<p>首先，我們一般俗稱的嘴巴破洞其實就是口腔內部的黏膜出現「發炎的症狀」。因為臉頰內部、牙齦、舌頭或唇上的黏膜剝落、出現白色圓形且中間為半透明狀的傷口、破洞等，嚴重的話甚至有可能會出血。在醫學名詞上將它稱為：口腔潰瘍。</p>

<p>前面有提到，細菌在傷口中繁殖的會就容易導致嘴巴破洞。如果一個人的免疫系統有良好地在運作的話，就能確實地偵測到這些小細菌並防禦它，相反地當人的免疫力低下的話，體內的免疫系統就沒有辦法抵抗這些細菌，讓細菌們肆意在傷口中繁殖，讓嘴巴發炎破洞。</p>
